Google Ads
The Google Ads card under Ad Platforms, and how monthly spend reaches Cost per lead and ROAS.
Connect Google Ads and your monthly spend is imported into Cost per lead and ROAS on Analytics, so you stop typing it by hand. The card sits under Ad Platforms on Settings, Integrations. Before you connect it reads: We only read your campaign spend. Google does not offer a read-only scope for Ads.
Connect and choose an account
- 1Click Connect on the Google Ads card. Google asks you to sign in and to allow Local Wrangler to read your campaign spend, then sends you back to Integrations.
- 2Click Choose account. The picker's own words: Pick the account to import spend from. This is set once: to use a different account later, disconnect and connect again. Manager accounts are shown for context but cannot be picked, they hold no spend of their own. Search by name or ID, pick the account, and click Connect account.
- 3The card then shows the account you chose. Only the person who connected can make the choice: a teammate opening the card meanwhile sees Needs setup and the line Whoever connected this account still has to choose. To take it over, disconnect it and connect it again.
An account that is not billed in US dollars connects but does not import: the page says so and asks you to enter Paid Search spend manually. If the login reaches no account of its own, the picker says so and asks you to get access to an account under the manager and connect again.
What is imported, and when
Once a day, the account's total spend for each calendar month is written as Paid Search spend and marked Google Ads. Each run rewrites the current month and the months before it, 3 months in all, so a month Google restates is corrected and a month Google stops reporting is removed from the import. Spend you typed yourself is never touched by the import. How the figures are then used is on Cost per lead and ROAS.
While the connection is healthy the pill reads Active, and the card lists the Google login you used and the account you chose, each on an Account line. If Google stops accepting the connection, the card shows Error with the reason and a Reconnect button; that state is set and cleared by the daily run, so it changes at most once a day. On Analytics the imported figure carries a Google Ads badge, described on Cost per lead and ROAS.
Disconnect
We will stop reading your Google Ads data until you reconnect. Your imported ad spend stays in your reports, and you can enter Paid Search spend manually again. Once the connection is gone the figure already imported is still shown, marked as no longer syncing, until you enter that month yourself.
