Statuses

Every status a lead can have, and what the app does with each.

Every lead has one status. Change it from the picker on the lead, from the picker on a table row, from the board by dragging, or on several leads at once with Set status. The statuses, in the order the picker shows them:

  • New
  • Open
  • Hot
  • Qualified
  • In Progress
  • Pending
  • Not Qualified
  • Won
  • Lost

Local Wrangler attaches behaviour to some of these; the rest are yours to use however your team works. What the app does:

  • New is how every lead arrives. The first time a lead leaves New, the moment is recorded as your first response, which is what the First response figures on the lead and the Dashboard measure. A lead still Newwith no response is what the daily Lead going cold email and the Dashboard's Needs attention panel point at.
  • Qualified and Hot each have a tile at the top of the Leads list.
  • Wonrecords the date it was won. A won lead's value is what Won revenue on the Dashboard and the revenue columns on Analytics add up, so set the value before or when you mark it won.
  • Lost asks for a reason: Price too high, Went with competitor, No response from customer, Out of service area, Not a real job and Timing, plus an optional note. That is whyLost is only offered on the lead itself, not from the list row, the bulk bar or the board. Moving a lead back out of Lost clears the reason.
  • Not Qualified is set by the app in one case: when the recording of a call is confidently judged to be a sales solicitation rather than a customer, the lead is marked Not Qualifiedand the timeline says so. You can change it back. Two other changes happen on their own, both from the lead's job: marking the job Won or Loston the Jobs board marks the lead the same way, carrying the job's lost reason, and the lead's value follows the job's amount. All three are written to the lead's timeline. Those are the only changes the app makes to a lead's status or value on its own.
  • Won, Lost and Not Qualified count as closed for the repeat-customer rule: someone who contacts you again after their lead closed gets a fresh lead rather than being combined onto the old one.
