Google Search Console

Connect read-only, choose the property once, and read queries and pages under SEO.

Google Search Console tells you which searches bring people to your site. Connect it once under SEO on Settings, Integrations, and its figures appear in the SEO section, not on Analytics. Before you connect the card reads: Google is asked for read-only access to your Search Console data.

Connect and choose a property

  1. 1
Click Connect on the Google Search Console card, sign in with Google and allow read-only access. You are sent back to Integrations.
  2. 2
If the Google account holds exactly one Search Console property, it is chosen for you. Otherwise click Choose property. The picker's own words: Pick the property to read search data from. This is set once: to use a different property later, disconnect and connect again.
  3. 3
Only the person who connected can choose. A teammate sees Needs setup and is told to disconnect and connect again to take it over.

Where the data appears

Open SEO, Search performance. It lists your Queries and your Pages with Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Avg. position, for the site you select. The report is read from Google when you open the page and kept for 12 hours before it is read again. Because Google publishes search data with a delay, the period always ends 2 days before today. The Analytics page carries a pointer to the SEO section for this data.

The panel says where it stands. Until you connect it invites you to connect Google Search Console. When Google no longer accepts the saved authorization it reads Connection expired, with the line Reconnect your Google account to keep search data flowing.; the card on Integrations shows Error with a Reconnect button at the same time, and that state is refreshed when someone opens the page, not on a schedule. While nobody has picked a property it reads No property chosen yet; when the chosen property is not the site you selected it reads No property for this site; and a period Google has nothing for reads No search data for this period..

While the connection is healthy the card's pill reads Active, with the Google login on an Account line and the chosen property on a Property line. The card has no Events button.

Disconnect

We will stop reading your Google Search Console data until you reconnect. The report is not shown once the connection is gone. Connecting again asks you to choose the property afresh; that is also the way to change it.
