Inside a lead
The tabs and fields, what is editable, and what the value shows.
Open a lead and you get its record in tabs: Details, Notes, Activity, Jobs, and Call or Chat when the lead came in that way. Everything you can change saves the moment you leave the field, with no Save button.
The top of the lead
The name is editable in place. Beside it is the grade, and under it the phone and email as links, so one click starts a call or an email; the Call and Email buttons on the right do the same. The status picker sits on the right, with the reason panel appearing when you pick Lost. Tags are added by typing and pressing Enter or a comma, and removed with the X on each tag.
Details
- Contact: phone, email, address and city, all editable in place. Changing the email or phone re-checks which customer the lead belongs to.
- Lead Details: the service asked for, editable; then Source, Keyword and Lead Page as they were captured, read-only.
- Value: type an estimate for a lead with no job. Once the lead has a job, the field shows the job total with the caption From job and the line Change the amount on the job, and is no longer editable here. See Set or change the value on the Actions page.
- Appointment: a date and time. A future appointment is shown above the Activity timeline; a past one takes its place in the history.
- First response: Responded in, followed by how long the lead waited, once it has left New; before that, Awaiting first response and how long it has been waiting.
- Traffic Source: where the visit came from. When two different touches were recorded you see First Touch and Last Touch side by side. With one, you see it alone with the line "This is the only touch recorded for this lead." or "Only one touch was recorded for this lead.".
- Details: the text the lead arrived with, such as the message and any extra form fields. Editable. Notes for your team are separate, on the Notes tab.
- Follow-ups: tasks with a due date, an optional reminder and an assignee. See the Actions page.
Jobs
The Jobs tab lists every job for this customer, not only this lead, so a repeat customer's history is one click away. Convert to job at the top of the lead creates the first one; once a job exists the button reads View job instead.
The job and the lead stay in step. Marking the job Won or Lost on the Jobs board marks this lead Won or Losttoo, with the job's lost reason, and the lead's timeline records it. Moving a job back out of Won or Lostdoes not change the lead. The lead's value follows the job's amount as described under Value above.
