Dispatch: queue and calendar

Which jobs are active work, priority order, the arrival window, assignees and the week calendar.

Dispatch is the second view on Jobs. The Pipeline and Dispatch switch sits at the top right and appears once you have at least one job. Dispatch has two boards, Queue and Calendar, and both show the same set of jobs: your active work.

Which jobs count as active work

A job is active work while its work status is Unscheduled, Scheduled or In progress and it is not Lost. A job set to Done or Canceled, or moved to Lost on the Pipeline, drops off both boards. Deleted jobs never appear.

Work status is separate from the Pipeline stage. The stage says where the deal stands; the work status says where the work stands. You change the work status on the job's row in the Queue.

The Queue

The Queue lists active jobs in priority order, each with its position number. Drag a row, or use the arrows to move it up or down, and the order is saved for everyone. Jobs you have not placed yet come after the ones you have, earliest arrival window first, then oldest first.

On each row you can set the arrival window, a start and an end (the end must be at or after the start), assign a teammate, change the work status, and open the Customer portal. The amount is shown for reference and is edited on the Pipeline card.

The Calendar

The Calendar shows one week, Monday first, with a row per teammate and a row for Unassigned. The arrows either side of This week move a week back or forward, and the dates of the week shown appear beside them. A job sits in the cell of its assignee on the day its arrival window starts. Jobs with no window sit in the Unscheduled rail above the grid.

Drag a job from the rail, or from another cell, onto a day. It is assigned to that row's teammate and its window start moves to that day, keeping the time of day it already had. The window end is left as it was, unless it would now fall before the start, in which case it is cleared. Drag a job onto the Unscheduled rail to take it off the calendar; it keeps its assignee.

Each row and card has a Customer portal button. That is where you set the arrival window your customer sees, which is a free-text range and not the exact start you schedule here. See The customer's arrival tracker.
