Sharing a read-only report

Create, copy and revoke the public link, and exactly what it shows and never shows.

Share, in the Analytics toolbar, gives you one public link to a read-only report you can hand to a client, a partner or anyone without a login. In the dialog's own words: Anyone with this link can view a read-only report: traffic, top pages and lead counts. Revenue and contact details are never shown.

Creating, copying and revoking

Click Share, then Create share link. The address appears with a Copy button. A company has one link at a time, and opening Share again shows the same one. Revoke link asks Revoke this link? It stops working immediately, and Yes, revoke ends it at once: anyone opening it afterwards sees This link is no longer active, with the line Ask the dashboard owner for a new share link. Links do not expire on their own; revoking is the only way to end one, and creating again afterwards makes a new address.

What the viewer sees

Your company name under the heading Website performance report; a choice of 7, 30 or 90days; six cards: Visitors with its change, Pageviews, Leads, Conversion, Bounce Rate and Time on Page; the Visitors chart; Top Pages; and Traffic Sources with visitors and lead counts. Bounce Rate follows the same rule as the Engagement card on your own page: the share of visits that were not engaged, so the two never disagree about a week. It always covers all your sites together, and it follows the viewer's own timezone.

What it never contains

Revenue, phone numbers or any other contact detail, individual leads, ad spend, annotations, and your filters. The shared report is built from the same figures as your own page, but only those.
